When it was first introduced, selfie sticks were frowned upon by a lot of people, seeing it as the culmination of the inherent narcissism that social media brings out of us. Those people were pretentious and wrong.

Of course, within just a couple of years, everyone had a selfie stick, and why wouldn’t they: it let you take great photos without twisting your arm in ungodly poses, took away the need for expensive tripods, and eliminated that whole awkward situation of asking random strangers to take your photo, among other things.

Chock full of features, premium selfie sticks can do everything from helping you focus your camera to setting a timer, and a bunch of other cool tricks. The downside? The price.

Luckily for you, we went out and scoured the market for some of the best GoPro selfie sticks for under $50. We tested dozens of products to find the best budget selfie stick that provided high-quality performance without breaking the bank.

So here’s our list of the best GoPro selfie sticks under $50 in the market today.

HSU Professional Selfie Stick

First on the list is the HSU Professional Selfie Stick. Measuring at 16.3 x 4.3 x 2.1 inches, it’s a fairly standard sized model, with the pole being extendable from 15.6 all the way up to 44 inches. It’s compatible with the 2018 GoPro Hero and Hero Fusion, as well as earlier GoPro Hero models like the Hero 3 all the way to Hero 7. It’s also compatible with larger smartphones like the iPhone X, but it can also be used by earlier iPhone models from 6s upwards. For Galaxy users, though, it doesn’t support anything before the Galaxy S8.

It’s designed to be both waterproof and rustproof, which makes it ideal for the beach or a day in the pool, but it’s also strong enough to withstand the rigors of watersports like surfing, diving, jet skiing, etc. The HSU Professional Selfie Stick is made of high-quality aluminum that won’t buckle, scratch, or break (within reason, of course).

But aside from being a camera holder, that’s about it. It doesn’t have additional features, but for less than 20 bucks, the HSU Professional Selfie Stick is a very cost-effective purchase and you can see why it deserves a spot in our list of best GoPro Selfie Sticks Under $50 list.

BlitzWolf Selfie Stick Tripod

Perfect for both GoPro’s and smartphones, the BlitzWolf Selfie Stick Tripod is both lightweight and compact, having the ability to be folded to 7.8”. Although it is advertised for use with smartphones as well, it unfortunately doesn’t support Samsung S5, the S5 mini, the Redman Note 4, and the Xiaomi 5X (hit us up in the comments if your windows OS phone won’t connect).

The BlitzWolf is pretty versatile, with the tripod featuring a 203° rotation clamp, a 180° adjustable knob, and a 360° rotatable phone holder. It also has a 360° rotation head, giving you more angles to work with. The pole itself can be extended to 26.7”, considerably shorter than the HSU, but what it lacks in length, it most certainly makes up for in performance.

The BlitzWolf comes with a detachable Bluetooth remote that you can use up to 32.8 feet. The internal 65mAh rechargeable lithium battery is powerful enough to last to up least 50,000 selfies in a full charge. The best part? The company offers both an 18 month and lifetime warranty.

Peyou Selfie Stick Tripod

Coming from Chinese company PEYOU, the Peyou Selfie Stick and Tripod works just like the BlitzWolf: it’s lightweight, compact (although it doesn’t fold), and can extend to 26”, a little longer than the Blitzwolf. The Peyou can also connect with more smartphone models like iPhone models from 6s onwards, and the Samsung Galaxy S6 onwards (including the Galaxy Note 9 and 8).

It also turns into a sturdy tripod with a 203° rotation clamp, a 180° adjustable knob, and a 360° rotatable phone holder. Switching between selfie stick and tripod modes were seamless, and the construction of the Peyou made it feel very sturdy and reliable thanks to its high-quality aluminum alloy body. If anything breaks, however, the Peyou Selfie Stick and Tripod comes with a 12-month replacement warranty.

GoPro 3-Way Grip, Arm, Tripod

Of course the best GoPro selfie stick will come from, well, GoPro itself. Their 3-way selfie stick boasts a 3-in-1 design that incorporates the best features of a camera grip, a tripod, and an extension arm. The lightweight handle can be detached and connected to other cameras as a reliable grip, while the tripod is ingeniously hidden inside the handle itself.

The extension arm gives users a more versatile selfie stick thanks to its folding design that can be angled in a variety of ways. Extended, the GoPro 3-way measures 20” and collapses down to 7”. The entire thing is waterproof up to 33ft and weighs only a little over 10 ounces.
